Community Partners
Wichita Public Schools has partnerships that represent all areas of our community: agencies, businesses, individuals, parents, organizations and civic groups, private/public/higher
education schools, and religious institutions. These partners support, encourage, and enrich and offer a unique blend of talents and expertise to our students and staff, and help schools implement the vision and achieve student learning standards.
When these partnerships are established and implemented, they can make instructional programs exciting and relevant to the purpose of developing all students into successful citizens and quality future employees. Partners investing in time and dollars will generate a high rate of return in continued economic growth for the community. Externally, partnerships can create opportunities for businesses to enhance their community image and involvement; internally it can increase employee morale and participation in company-wide projects and events.
Partner groups can provide...
- Volunteers to serve as tutors, mentors, readers, speakers, judges for contests, committee members for various groups, or assistants in and out of the classroom
- Site visits for students and classes, field trips, etc.
- Teaching aids, supplies and equipment such as books, computers, audio/visual
- Enrichment activities for after-school, spring/summer break programs
